  • Encourages component manufacturers to eliminate lead-based solder and other hazardous substances from their products
  • Recommends substitute materials that are environmentally friendly
  • Provides material safety data sheets upon request

Furthermore, North Shore Components agrees to continually amend its Environmental Policy as necessary based upon changing customer needs and regulatory requirements. We also seek to keep our employees and customers abreast of relevant new information regarding environmental issues and their impact on the electronics marketplace.

When a customer requests information regarding the environmental compliance of components sold by North Shore Components, we:

  • Refer to part manufacturer websites to review specification sheets for material content
  • Contact manufacturers directly when such material is not available to the public
  • Rely on franchised partners for material content, when applicable
  • Utilize third party content material databases as a last resort when information is not available directly from the manufacturer

If you have specific questions regarding the material content of a certain component, please contact your account manager at North Shore Components.
