Cheryl Ruggiero, Co-Founder & President, started in government in the area of business operations. This is where she realized opportunities existed to provide services that the defense department would require. She launched North Shore Components in 2001 out of her home and now owns her own 10,000 square foot plus facility.
Cheryl’s organizational skills and her drive to innovate have kept North Shore Components on a steady upward pace. Today, the company is a leader in counterfeit mitigation. Her interest in technology has led to her acquiring cutting-edge inspection equipment and implementing workflow automation systems to improve efficiency and quality control.
Cheryl has created a diversified and enriching atmosphere for the employees as she continues to invest in training and knowledge enhancement. She believes employees who feel comfortable at work, confident in their ability, and are made part of the organization’s success will ultimately serve the customer better.

Joseph Ruggiero, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, leads the North Shore Components team with clarity, steadfast dedication and professionalism. He believes employees deserve to work in a clean, modern environment and have access to cutting-edge tools that will enable them to deliver stellar service and authentic products to the customer.
Joseph started in sales in 1998 and was the top performer within 1 years’ time. By 2000 he was generating over $2.5 million in gross profit annually for the company he was employed at. It was then that Joseph and Cheryl decided to start North Shore Components
Joseph is a trend setter and has developed keen instincts for the best available technologies in the electronics industry. He strives for excellence in everything he does. He monitors the component industry with vigilance and is a leader in the fight to eliminate counterfeiting. He is consistently reviewing customer score cards for areas of improvement and watches for trends by paying careful attention to supplier questionnaires – all in an effort to remain a leader in the industry.
Joseph believes in what he calls “an extreme level of service and commitment to the customer.” He has a clear vision of the future of the component industry where intelligent automated work flow systems greatly reduce human error and metrics-driven processes increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

John Cronin, Chief Operating Officer, has a measure of professionalism rivaled only by his innate intelligence and trustworthiness.
He brings his 30 years of experience and knowledge of the electronics industry to every interaction he engages in. John started as a warehouse manager in 1983, moved to purchasing management in 1985 and spent 8 years as Director of Global Procurement at PartMiner Inc. John has a degree in Business/Finance, has attended many Young Presidents Organization training seminars, Harvard Business training events and industry specific courses such as Lead Auditor Training for AS9100 and SAE’s Implementation of AS6081. His never-ending quest for knowledge and experience in electronics helps him drive the employees of North Shore Components to exceed customer requirements and deliver stellar customer service.
He has a natural ability to inspire and empower those employees who report to him and gain the trust and confidence of those he works with. John is intelligent, trustworthy and dedicated to serve in respectful and subtle ways while always maintaining his professionalism. His focus on customer satisfaction, corporate excellence and employee achievement are the keys to his leadership at North Shore Components
Matt Garrett, Director of Corporate Quality, joined North Shore Components February 2019 to support their leadership role in providing genuine components to manufacturing businesses.
For over 30 years, Matt has developed, implemented, and maintained QMS requirements fulfilling Commercial, Aerospace, Medical, and Defense requirements. He completed a BSEE/CS with Magna Cum Laude honors at Louisiana Tech University then completed a MSME/MIS at Columbia University in NY. With the strong engineering background and extensive factory experience, he is a Subject Matter Expert in manufacturing analysis processes. In his roles at Texas Instruments, Kulite Semiconductor, and Phonon Corporation, Matt contributed extensively to standards development, process science, detection engineering, and employee training. He has instructed classes on subjects including Auditing, Quality Systems, Contract Review, Configuration Control, Reliability, SPC, DoE, Welding, Brazing, Soldering, FAI, ERP w/Constraint Management, Cleanrooms, Wafer Fab, Wire Bonding, Die Attach, Seam Sealing, RGA, Space Qualification, Product Analysis & Test, CSI/GSI, as well as Counterfeit Detection and Avoidance.
Matt’s devotion to Quality Improvement drives his active membership in committees maintaining international standards defining requirements for Quality Management, Assembly and Joining, and Counterfeit Mitigation. Regarding the numerous standards reviewed throughout his career, he offers, “People change to enjoy success. Standards change to share their success. This is obvious in many ways. Quality embraces success management, so it is a good science to apply to our evolving world.”
Hui Ling joined North Shore Components as a Senior QA Manager in March 2019. She been working in Original Design Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturing for the past 23 years. She has assisted companies in developing, implementing, and maintaining their QMS requirements. She has been actively conducting supplier audits and working on developing and improvement activities.
She is a certified ISO9001 and ISO13485 lead auditor, AS9100 and TS16949 Internal auditor and a qualified VDA6.3 process and VDA6.5 Product auditor for automotive industries. She also a trained IPC-A-610D Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
Steven has more than 25 years of experience in the electronics industry panning across East Asia, North Asia and APAC.
He graduated with an MBA in Strategic Marketing from the University of Hull and he has come to North Shore Components with diverse experiences and knowledge from various backgrounds such as direct manufacturers, franchised and independent distributors. After having worked with various MNC such as Wurth, Eteq components (a subsidiary of Celestica), Arrow and Converge etc., Steven then held various senior management leadership roles in sales, business development, key account management and supplier relationships. Steven was part of the management team of Eteq that did a successful buy out from Celestica and then grew the business to become one of the mergers & acquisition entities of Arrow Electronics.
Steven will use his knowledge and experience to lead the sales team, drive customer satisfaction and development new customers in the Asia Pacific region.
Tony brings his strong belief in integrity, customer focus, quality and operational excellence to the Sales Director role for North America and Europe. He joins North Shore Components with 23 years of electronics industry experience.
Tony started out as an OEM buyer. He was quickly promoted to senior buyer overseeing a 100 million- dollar inventory with a mix of 4 product lines. After joining independent distribution, Tony rose quickly through purchasing and into a leadership role. From 2013-2015 Tony was the managing director in Penang, Malaysia. In this role Tony oversaw all operations supporting purchasing, sales, quality, and government compliance. He was instrumental in growing sales in both North America and Asia Pacific.
Besides sales and purchasing, Tony brings a strong background supporting counterfeit mitigation. He has worked with multiple entities assisting in writing processes and procedures supporting counterfeit electronics mitigation including assisting the Malaysian government in their efforts to document counterfeit mitigation procedures supporting the Northern Corridor Region.
Lisa Grana joined North Shore Components management team in May of 2013 as Purchasing Manager. Lisa brings 20 years of purchasing and management experience in electronic component distribution at PartMiner Inc. to North Shore Components. Her ability to share her knowledge and experience to improve the customer supply chain experience is a great asset to our company and our customers. The knowledge Lisa brings to North Shore Components of the OEM/CEM markets and her total dedication to customer satisfaction and the integrity of the Purchasing Department is fundamental to our future growth and customer relations.
Lisa’s excellent leadership skills and ability to manage employees make her a valuable team leader. She has proven to be an important pillar in the foundation that makes North Shore Components a leader in the industry.
Lisa is a graduate of Baruch College and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her positive attitude and her high level of commitment will ensure that our customers receive the Stellar Services they deserve.
Mike joined North Shore Components as a Senior Account Manager in 2013. Mike came to North Shore with over 15 years of account development experience in the electronics industry. Since that time he has managed some of the North Shore’s busiest accounts. He has taken the lead in developing customer relationships and has spent endless hours assisting the sales team in the service of their customers.
Mike truly understands the customers’ product needs and the service they expect. It is this quality that makes him a valuable member of the North Shore Management Team and a respected leader of the Sales Team.
Rich Negin began his career as an Electrical Design Engineer and spent over 10 years designing military and aerospace systems. With that knowledge base, he entered the semiconductor industry, initially as a Field Application Engineer, and progressed through various sales, sales management, and marketing management positions.
Rich joined North Shore Components, Inc. in 2013 as an Account Manager and based upon his strong engineering background, transitioned to Lead Engineer. He has a wealth of knowledge regarding electrical testing requirements related to counterfeit mitigation testing. Rich ensures that all North Shore Components customers receive the testing they require and that all tests have been completed correctly and the results are valid.
Rich currently oversees all testing performed by outside resources, acts as technical liaison with customers assisting them in creating electrical test plans and consults on account management, quality, and in-house testing.
Rich holds both Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering.
Scott Hagland started his career in purchasing and quickly moved up to operations management at various electronic distribution companies. Scott managed his own firm which he ran successfully for close to 20 years.
Scott now brings his 30 plus years of experience in managing all aspects of distribution, which include the appraising, buying and selling of excess and surplus inventory to North Shore Components, Inc. His history of global sourcing, product knowledge and procurement management are great assets to North Shore Components, Inc., their employees and their customers.
After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Shanghai International Studies University, Jeffery started working in supply chain at Mitsubishi where he played important roles in sourcing, technical support, supplier development and new business development. From there he moved into electronic component distribution where he has managed teams of buyers, built global supply chains and developed integrated procurement systems for international companies. Jeffery has a strong understanding of the need for quality suppliers based around the globe to ensure that manufacturers will always have a secure quality source of product.
Jeffery’s knowledge and understanding of the global supply chain will be a great benefit to North Shore Components, Inc. and their customers worldwide.
