Asset Recovery

Focusing on the Voice of the Customer and their needs, North Shore Components delivers comprehensive Asset Recovery Solutions for Original Equipment and Contract Manufacturers.  For Customers with surplus inventory to sell, we offer highly customized excess inventory solutions that help our Customers realize the highest possible return on investment, selling products to an exclusive worldwide network of active buyers.

Too often, companies holding excess inventory attempt to dispose of these assets by obtaining a selling price for the entire lot. Often, this equates to a “fire sale” that depresses the market value of the products well below their original acquisition cost. To ensure that our Customers receive maximum value for their excess inventory, NSC utilizes a variety of time-proven techniques, tools and resources to maximize cash flow and generate the highest possible ROI.

North Shore Components has a proven track record for successfully managing the sale of excess and obsolete inventory on behalf of OEMs and CEMs. Our company develops custom tailored solutions, including:

  • Direct purchase agreements
  • Consignment Sales Solutions

Direct Purchase Agreements

When rapid asset recovery is critical, North Shore Component’s outright purchase programs could be the ideal solution. With outright purchase arrangements, NSC evaluates a Customer’s list of materials, and then, if warranted, offer a fair price for the entire lot based upon an estimate of the inventory’s current market value. This price is then presented to the Customer, and if accepted, we will generate a purchase order for the entire lot; benefits to the Customer include:
  • Immediate payments
  • No inconvenience
  • No recycling or scrap
Outright purchase agreements offer the fastest, most expedient solution for disposal of excess inventory.

Consignments Sales Solutions

The program is basically a means by which Customers can handle, manage and market excess and obsolete inventory to recoup stagnate dollars.  Consignment sales arrangements help maximize total ROI by expanding the time allotted to sell the excess inventory.  Instead of quickly disposing of merchandise, this process allows the market to absorb the excess inventory, serving to enhance the total dollar value of the surplus inventory.

With consignment sales arrangements, NSC carefully evaluates the Customer’s list of excess inventory, and then categorizes the inventory based upon commodity type and potential liquidity. The Customer and NSC will negotiate the consignment sales agreement, including a mutually acceptable revenue-sharing split. Once done the Customer assigns the inventory to NSC while retaining the title of the merchandize.  Once received the inventory is carefully reviewed, counted, repacked and tracked in our inventory management system.  As surplus inventory is sold, the Customer receives monthly payments and detailed reports; benefits of consignment sales include:

  • Maximum return on investment over time
  • Reduced warehousing and administrative expenses
  • Monthly sales commission checks
  • Full transparency inventory and sales reporting, including monthly inventory updates and complete historical sales records
  • Key information is at your fingertips, including quantity received, quantity in inventory, inventory sold, unit sales price, etc.

NSC customizes this data to allow our Customers to run revenue sharing information by specific part number as well as other reporting requirements.

We offer a powerful database of Customers combined with online resources that maximize the visibility of your excess and surplus inventory worldwide, enhancing the product value and speeds transactional velocity.
