NSC Environmental Policy
North Shore Components Inc. (NSC) business model is based on the procurement, repackaging and distribution of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical board level components and assemblies. In addition, the utilization of counterfeit detection methods and tests to ensure electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical board level components and assemblies are authentic to Manufacturer specifications.
As a preferred supply chain partner for leading Original Equipment Manufacturers and Contract Manufacturers, NSC is committed to helping our Customers fulfill their obligations for products free of hazardous materials in compliance with applicable environmental legislation, such as, but not limited to, EN RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC, EN WEEE Directive 2002-96-EC and Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
It is NSC’s policy to operate its business committed to sound environmental management and with concern for the well being of our common environment. Our goal is to ensure that the company facilities and operations are in compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations; this requires that each NSC employee:
- Take personal responsibility to protect the environment as they conduct their work,
- Take personal responsibility to use resources wisely,
- Ensure that they have the knowledge, skills, and equipment to conduct their work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner,
- Make every attempt to identify materials that meet applicable standards, using part numbers and spec sheets to identify environmentally friendly materials,
- Recommend environmentally compliant substitute material whenever possible.

- Make environmental concerns an integral part of our strategic planning and decision making process and commit sufficient resources to implement effective environmental programs,
- Operate all facilities in an environmentally responsible manner in compliance with environmental laws and regulations,
- Educate employees to be accountable for environmental stewardship and encourage them to seek innovative ways to improve the environmental aspects of our operations,
- Maintain compliance programs to inform and train employees in the performance of their duty to achieve the company’s environmental policies,
- Through audits and other means, monitor operations to help assure that practices in our workplaces conform to our policies and continually improve our environmental programs,
- Provides material safety data sheets upon request and ensure materials supplied are traceable to the end user.
