The electronics industry is experiencing a period of longer lead times for components from suppliers such as Texas Instruments,Micro Semi, Vishay, International Rectifier, On Semi, Atmel, Samsung and Micron-- just to name a few. Add to that the hassle and steady increase of counterfeiting components and buyers are facing a recipe for disaster. A careful review of industry information and indicators suggests that the problem as a whole is escalating.
